Hmm... so what do we have here?

My TL left for a 2-month stay in US (work-related). Lucky him. I think its just awesome to be able to go to another country, experience another lifestyle, work environment, meeting people of diverse cultures, ethnicity, getting to know how business (and also normal life) is conducted over in that place. Plus all the sight-seeing and travelling surely are welcome! I've always believed that being widely travelled, and knowing other cultures and other things I've mentioned above, adds to your personality. One grows as a person, is more tolerant to different views, is able to appreciate why one man's mannerisms are so, etc.

Having said that, its quite a wonder (or, shock) that I've never been outside of India. I was born here, studied here, and have been working here from the past 5 years. Phew. I'd love to go out, explore new places. Well, if I had my way (and not an engineering degree), then I'd be travelling for a living :D like the hosts/presenters on Discovery's Travel and Living do. All (it seems) they do are go new places, explore the places to see, the food culture, et. al. Wonderful thing to do for a living no? :)

I'm here with nothing particular to say. I've got no work today so I was browsing through reuters.com. There's news articles about iPhone (of course), Harry Potter fans in frenzy at the movie premiere in Japan, and some "oddly enough" news about some convicted man tying his electronic monitor to his dog and fleeing away and 2 teenaged girls who left photos behind after mugging another girl. How dumb. Nothing new happening in the world. Its the same old news. Oh yea, I read about a bomb defused in London. Blast the terrorists, when will they ever learn? Well I guess not until we have Bushs', Saddams, Osamas and Advanis in the picture.

Reminds me, I'm going to watch a documentary on global warming tonight, "An Inconvenient Truth".

One of the things I've always wanted to do is learn a foreign language. Umm well probably every language is "foreign" to someone, and I mean a language that hasnt originated here. (I know 5 already). I want to learn Spanish and/or French. I'd really prefer Spanish though. That way I'll know whats Shakira singing ;) I enquired a couple of places around and though the fees isnt an issue, the timings is. Sat evenings and sunday mornings, for 3 months. I'd rather have it saturday and sunday mornings. Also, I want the class to be more interesting that just a place when I go to learn. I want a class of talkitives, enthusiasts, and people who are fun to be with. Not like I go there and everyone just buried their heads into books and leaves without a word when done. That'd be totally uncool. But, there are chances of that happening more than not. So, am in a fix. Should I go fulfil my passion of learning a new language or should I throw away the idea thinking about what kind of people 'might' be in the class with me *sigh*

Tell me what to do! I so, so so badly want to take up the classes.

Life's going the same way, not much change. I mean, there is, but I'm looking forward to a change in environment when we go for our honeymoon next month. A much welcome break from wake up-cook-bathe-eat-work-eat-work-back home-tv-time with hubby-sleep routine. I need to shop for a few things for the vacation, lets see how I can make up for the time needed next week.

Thats all; I better leave before I make this post an epic :D

This is gonna be a long one I promise...

... thats because I have been wanting to write so much, that I dont know where to begin. And with too many things happening, its all weighing on my mind. So anyway, here goes...

We (moi and hubby darling) went out to dine last night. I wore my shortest short denim skirt (the last I wore it was in Sept. last year :O ) and a cute pink top. Hubby looked at me and made cat calls and whistled too. Do I have to remind him that we are married now? C'mon, swig me in your arms and let me walk beneath your feet so that I dont touch the ground *ahem*
So after lovely dinner (and quickie(s) in the car *ahem* ) we drove over to his friend's place. 'Twas 12 AM by the time we made it home, exhausted and glad.

Wait, let me tell you the reason for celebration we had last night. Hubby has quit his job! He's at home from the past 3 days and I'm the one going to work diligently every morning, while the only thing he works on is his mouth, by eating and lazing around. He calls himself "house husband" (a la housewife) and is revelling in the happiness that I got to go to work while he watches sports at home uninterrupted by my talks *grrr* WHAT?! Thats the reason for celebration?!?!?!?!? Um, actually no. Hubby dear has 2 offers and he's contemplating on which one to take up. (ha!) both are good, and because he's confused about which one to take up, he's made an excel sheet. The sheet has some criteria against which each co. will be rated by points. The co. with max points will be his paymaster. Neat idea, I must say.

Work is smooth. There's a load waiting and this evening we have a call with the Denver team. After that, it might get hectic. Though I'm really averse to staying more than 8 hours at work. My policy is, come in early so that you can get home early. That way, you spend time with your family, friends and also have time for yourself. Merely putting in more than 8 (upto 12 or sometimes even 16 hours of work) as most of my team mates do, is not my cup of tea. Nor does it mean that they work harder. And strictly, weekends off. Again, some of them come on weekends too. Seriously??!!? I cant imagine giving up mine for work.

It must be the ruby earrings I'm wearing or that its friday today, I'm feeling super-beautiful. I have plans for the evening, and the weekend seems busy too. I really want to get my hair curled, (my hair is super, super straight) but I chicken out at the last moment. Somehow, I cant imagine how I'd look with curls. Another reason why I should try. Maybe I'll look radically different. And hubby will whistle and make cat calls. Hahaha :))

Alright, thats it!

I'm taking a break from work. So what if its only for 15 minutes? I need it badly.
***sigh***
I've been working on an assignment from the past one week and its still not complete. I'm at my wits end on how to make it see its end, but lady luck has not been too kind to me on this front. This has been the longest that I've taken to finish something I've been given to do. Not a very good morale booster, I should admit.

For the lack of bloggable content, I thought of telling here what is the assignment all about, but figured it would only end up making me feel that I havent been able to complete it yet (which I already know), so plan dismissed.

Things at home are fine. We recently celebrated our 6-month wedding anniversary, had delicious food. Finger-licking, lip-smacking hehe. You know me, when it comes to eating, I... heh heh.

I watched Namaste London last night. Usual, run-of-the-mill, nothing new. Can skip this one without feeling guilty or left out. ;-)

I'm going away this weekend to meet my sis and her li'l kid, so that should be fun. Not to self - DONT forget the camera!

I'm hungry already. Or maybe, its the work thats staring me in face thats making my tummy growl. OK people, back to barracks. Work beckons, mi comrades!

Some of this and some of that too...

I am here at my desk, with a pile of work waiting for me. Well, it can keep waiting. Sometimes I don't just feel like working. It seems like what you would term as "repulsive". Usually happens when I get to some point and then am stuck. I try and I try, and if it is to no avail, I start procrastinating. And start my spree of nonstop chatter, reading gossip, and sometimes news. Oh yea, blog too.

And why is it that I feel tired these days? Try as much as I do, to cook, work in office, read, watch TV, catch up on news, I end up feeling really tired. A little bit of extra somethings added to everyday life and I get the feeling. Wonder why. There was a time I would wake up at 6.30 AM, bathe, eat, go to office, come by 8 PM, dinner, TV, listen to radio, and was a voracious reader. What happened to that girl? Where's she gone? Bring her back please.

Then again, sometimes, I think its all just in here *points to her head* I need to be composed and stop worrying my little head over trivial matters. I sometimes worry so much that I think my head will just explode. Of course, I tend to, how the English might put it, go overboard with my emotions. But mind is a hard thing to control you see. Sages go to Himalayas to do that.

Focused. I need to be more focused. And *brrrrrrraaahhh* shake up and loosen a bit. Amen to that.

Mornin' !

I noticed something. I havent made an entry in my other blog for a long long time. Thats good. It means time away from re-living all the not-so-good things happening in my (personal) life, and now it also means less of those unpleasant things. Good.

Well, for now, its back to barracks :)
